Launch Pad

I've seen discussions which suggest launching the Phantom 4 from a rug or some sort of pad to keep the rotors from kicking up dust into the motors.

Rather than having to deal with a rug or some sort of table, is there a reason not to just put it on the styrofoam case it comes in and launch it from there?

That would seem to get it sufficiently off the ground but want to make sure I'm not missing something.

You can use pretty much anything that's stable and large enough.

My basement is full of unused plastic storage bins, leftover from the previous homeowner, with mismatched lids. I just grabbed the largest lid I could find. It's blue, so it's easy to see, flat and smooth.
