I just got a Phantom 3 Professional (Merry Christmas to me)
I have been trying to update my firmware for the aircraft for two days and have not been able to do it.

I've followed the directions just as described on this YouTube tutorial: but it fails every time.
There is nothing on the micro SD card that I am using. I download the firmware, extract the zip, move the .bin file to the root directory of the SD card, insert the SD card into the aircraft, turn the aircraft on, and it flashes alternating red/green for a few seconds and then just stays red. The log always indicates either "FAILED" or "CORRUPTED" and tells me to download the latest file from the website, but I've tried it numerous times.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? This is incredibly frusturating as I cannot fly the drone without firmware!

I am trying to go to the 1.6 firmware.

Try installing the firmware using these instructions. If the update fails, please post the TXT file from your memory card.

Hope your giving it about 20 minutes, give or take. A firmware update can take a while.

Your Micro SD card might be no good. Try a different card.

Try to format the card before uploading the firmware file.
