Just need some clarification with updating.

I should format the sd card before updating form 1.5 to 1.8. Put Bin file into root directory. Update aircraft
Then when its done updating restart the aircraft. Update the controller from my phone, then update the aircraft from my phone(2.7.2 app).

Note: I just got a new gs7 edge and have been having problems with connection and lost signal. Any advice is appreciated as I have been away from the phantom scene for a couple months.

Hmm. I would say just update from the phone using the supplied cable. Make sure you have the latest DJI GO app which will download the latest firmware and then flash, don't worry if connection drops while downloading it'll still download it. Just make sure you don't disconnect it from the aircraft while actually flashing.
