I have been flying RC helicopters for years and just for the fun of it... I got a Phantom 2 Vision.
After setting it up... which took minutes...using great video's online ... I was able to fly it , take some fun video, used the coming home feature... all good. It is a pleasure to fly and a complete, beautiful package !!!! Just a few questions... My version is 1.1.7 on the camera and Naza-M 1.05 do I have to update? Everything is working perfectly! Also, how do I activate normal or more aggressive flight assigned to S1? I think I hook up....using the USB to my computer and open PT2 app... then what?
Thanks for any help

We're up to version 1.08 now. Latest version numbers and release notes here: http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision/download

Camara is also up, if you want the ability to shoot RAW dng files then update that too, there's a step-by-step DJI video to follow on how to do that one on the Vision site too (it's via SD card, not Assistant).

It's not more aggressive as such, but the modes you can change on S1 include atti mode - which disables horizontal GPS hold (i.e. it will drift with wind) but maintains orientation and height hold. Or you can go to full manual and kiss goodbye to every bit of help except basic gyro stabilisation. Really wouldn't recommend that one but then again you say you are experienced... just be careful though, they don't handle quite the same as helis.

To access this and a couple of other features do a search for NAZA MODE and have a bit of a read up before you leap in - just my opinion. :)

What Pull_Up said ^^ ... and/or ...

Latest versions/updates/downloads are at http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision/download

Follow instructions in section 13 of the manual (http://download.dji-innovations.com.../en/Phantom_2_Vision_User_Manual_v1.12_en.pdf) to install Phantom Assistant and RC Assistant. The Vision Assistant is used to upgrade the Phantom, the RC Assistant is used to upgrade the controller. You should use both to insure you have the latest firmware.

The Vision FC200 camera is upgraded via a separate procedure. See http://www.dji.com/info/releases/dji-released-new-firmware-v1-1-9-for-phantom-2-visions-camera-fc200

Download the Vision app for whatever smartphone/tablet you intend to use, Iphone App Store or Google Play

You definitely want the latest versions for all components ... for important upgrades, for compatibility with each other, and just so folks can answer your questions (it's generally easiest if everything's current).

Most of the configuration work is done in the Vision Assistant. When you use it, have everything on just as if you were going to fly ... Controller, Repeater, Smartphone/Tablet - so you can see that all is working as expected.

To activate the "normal or more aggressive flight assigned to S1" connect your Vision to the Vision Assistant. In the upper right hand there's a button that toggles between Vision mode and NAZA mode. Click it to go to NAZA. You will be able to verify the controller signals the Vision as expected. For S1 in NAZA mode, the top position is GPS, the mid position is ATTI, and the bottom position can be either RTH or Manual, your choice depending on set up in the Assistant. NAZA mode also activates the IOC function of S2 ... top position is OFF, mid position is Course Lock, and bottom position is Home Lock.

Suggest you also at least take a once over glance at http://www.phantompilots.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8768

As for "working perfectly" so why upgrade ... I believe one of the upgrades made some changes that mitigate the impact of certain types of control radio interference. Such tweaks may never impact you, then again they might. Just sayin' ...
