Can you use a different tx and reciever. I have a JR radio and would like to use it. Can someone tell me how to change it.

You can use what ever you like, thats the great thing about electronics. If you search YouTube there are a few videos where people show how to program a new transmitter for the Phantom. The key is to buy a transmitter and receiver at the same time from the same manufacturer and ensure there are enough channels to handle everything you want to do.
