I recently got back to U.S. from Jamaica and had no problems going there from the U.S. to Montego Bay but on the return trip they would not allow me to carry on my drone. I had it packed in a hard shell case with 3 batteries in their respective slots. 2 security officers stopped me at the screening and escorted me back to the Southwest Airlines ticket counter where they required an agent from Southwest Airlines to escort me to the gate, where it could be checked at the gate. They had me remove the batteries and toss them into my carry on bag loose, as I had no Lipo bags with me. According to them, some idiot flew his drone inside the airport terminal recently and they unofficially banned drones as carry on from that point. Luckily I had a hard case and they labeled it with a couple of orange "fragile" stickers but I had a real pucker moment when I was waiting for it on the baggage carousel. The case did it's job and no damage to the drone. Just wanted to share that experience for any of you travelling to Jamaica in the near future.
