I am always careful to check where I fly so not to break any rules... recently at Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire and the DJI Phantom 2 V+ would not calibrate properly or the motors start. I was just within controlled airspace, but it was only controlled from 3500ft - 8000ft so not sure why it wouldn't start up as normal and allow me to fly ?? Any suggestions please ?

Cheers Eoin

If you were within a no fly zone then the automatic lockout would stop you from starting up. It's built into the software to check GPS location no so much for the controler area.

There's a description on pages 40-43 of the Users Manual.
It will contain the messages and other indicators for this issue.
