I have no trouble confessing that I'm an Apple fanboy. On the other hand, if there's any real advantage to using the GS with a Nexus 7 tablet (cheap!), I can be persuaded....

Then again, it was recently pointed out to me here that I can program missions using my iPad Air, then put the iPad away and fly without using it. In that way I'd still be able to fly and photograph via the GoPro, not actively tracking the quad from waypoint to waypoint.

What to do?

What version of the Phantom do you have?

The original, first version P1.

In that case, your only option for the groundstation is the iPad or iPad mini. Android devices only work with the P2V currently, and as of right now there's no waypoint functionality (the basis of the groundstation) on that model.
