Hi people how does the ipad 4 mini pan out with the p3s, do you need to use data?

You only need data to download the maps. If you have a Wi-Fi only iPad Mini 4, then just connect to the Internet and cache the maps before you head out to fly. And, you're going to need to install a tablet mount since the clip on the remote controller is too small to hold an iPad Mini 4.
