iPad Air option without cellular???

Would an Ipad Air WITHOUT cellular work with the Phamtom 2 Vision? I've seen different mounts for the tablets, but not sure about whether the lack of cellular service is an issue. The IPhone 4 I am currently using is inadequate and I already have the Air. Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

you are posting this on Non-vision Phantom category. that being said... I believe that the ios device is working under wifi. and transmits and receives through that repeater sticking out of the controller. you do not need cellular provided you can use the ios software. My guess it's a iphone optimized software and i'm not sure if there is a iPad optimized software.
