I'm pretty new to this but, I'm looking at a ground station to add waypoint navigation to my phantom and I see two differant options. One iPad graound station including an iOSD and one without. If I don't have the iOSD can I get real time information from the quad during flight or must I must add the iOSD to get anything?

    Thanks for the Help.

to get info, you need the iosd. but if you are using the ground station, technically you don't need it. It sends info back to the iPad. I'd get it to use when you are flying normally via FPV

The groundstation will give you the same data and control whether you have the iOSD in the mix or not. The iOSD will just add telemetry data overlaid on the FPV video signal, where the GS will provide data to the iPad (or PC) you're using to control the Phantom.
