IOS device connection

I'm looking at buying a Phantom 4 on Amazon, and I'm unclear: how does the IOS device (iPhone or iPad) connect to the controller? Is it via cable or bluetooth, or what? If it's via cable, is the cable included, or is the same cable as on the IOS chargers?

Same cable you charge with. Make sure it's a decent or new high-quality cable or you'll get a no signal message
