I recent suffered from a "smash and grab" theft (the thief smashed my car window, unlocked the door and stole everything of value from my car). I could have had extra riders on my home owner's insurance for the $5000 worth of photographic equipment I lost. I didn't. The result was that my home owners insurance only paid for the replacement value after the 1% home value deductible. After the deductible, most of the cost of my equipment was not covered. That has brought me to a problem. Insurance companies (Allstate in my case) will not insure my Drone only for theft. They identify a drone as a flying machine and think I want liability insurance for it. I have found nowhere I can insure my P4 for theft and theft only. Typically, everything I need to run my P4 is in the single easily stolen case. I have become nervous about carrying my P4 with me because its replacement value is less than the deductible on my home owners insurance. Has anyone else dealt successfully with buying theft insurance for UAV's? Ed Bradford, Pflugerville, TX; a new P4 owner.
