Hello everybody,

Being a newbie I still have lots of doubts and don't know lots of things.
After calibrating the compass, using GPS mode (LED flashes green), with more than 6 satellites, I take off the Phantom FC40 and stop it to hover around 3 to 5 meters (10 to 16 ft) high.
Based on what I saw on YouTube tutorials, I was expecting Phantom would maintain height (it does) and would standstill in place. This second behavior is not happening, as the FC40 circles slowly constantly.
It reacts correctly to all commands from transmitter, but if I leave sticks on the middle position it circles.

I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. Could it be a consequence of magnetic declination?

I'd appreciate any suggestion/help

Circling in hover is one of the symptoms. I see Rio has 22 degrees which is quite high.
You could try the advanced IMU calibration it won't do any harm.
I find my Phantom One will circle at first but seems to stop after gaining some height and flying around a while.
It is unusual to notice it when coming in to land. So some circling is fairly normal I think.
Our declination is only around one degree.
