I'll be going on a road trip soon around Europe and plan to take my P3A with me; I'll be calibrating the compass at every point I hope to fly/shoot. However, my question is: should I also calibrate the IMU at every new location or is this not necessary?

Thanks

I wouldn't think an IMU cal would be necessary unless a hard landing or similar or an update.

IMU calibration isn't affected by the area you're in.....if you've got a good one, stick with it!

You shouldn't have to recalibrate the compass at every new flying location.
Only if you have moved several hundred miles from the last good calibration location.

In short, no calibration is ok but wrong calibration is disastrous.

IMU should not require recalibration at every location. Include a mod value check as part of your pre flight routine and only calibrate IMU if the values are off.
