IMU calibration

How often should it be done? I have never tried it and have never had a drift or control issue with a dozen flights.
 
depends of the mod values you see in the phantom assistant

if you hover with your mouse over the yellow question mark (?) there is the reference values
and when to do basic cali or advanced cali
 
The app will let you know when you gyro/acces parameters are off enough to require an advanced IMU calibration, but many flyers do so more often. I do one every 10 flights or so or after I make a hardware change on the phantom. I subscribe to the "don't let a problem be your indicator" school of thought on calibration.

Smart. And, I don't think there is any harm in doing it too often.
 
After crashes, after firmware updates, after adding new components. Colin Quinn recommended it over basic calibration.
