I just bought an iMac 27 5k with an i5 3.3 CPU,8 gigs Ram (upgrading to 24) 2 TB Fusion drive, and the R395 2GB video.
Will this be good enough for editing 4K in Final Cut Pro X?
My main concern is the CPU, will the i5 3.3 do the job or should I have gone with the i7 for an additional $300

I alway load my Mac's with the best of everything except for RAM. You can't add the other stuff later, but non-Apple RAM can be bought cheaply. I put 24gb in mine. If you have the option, I would go for the i7.

Yes absolutely great for editing, but not until you have at least 16GB of ram. Your computer will run a lot faster as well.

i5 will be fine in Final Cut Pro. The clock speed is really good and order for video editing.
