If a p3p loses signal when it's climbing vertically, does RTH kick in?

Does return to home kick in when one loses the signal at let's say 500m+ feet high? Does it just descend back home/until signal regains? Just wondering.....

RTH gets triggered when signal between AC and RC is lost for over 3 secs but what does it afterwards depends on the setting in DJI Go.

If I go straight up, and it get/s d/c... it just starts to descends back, right?

Remote signal Lost triggers one of the selected actions:
RTH
Land
Hover

If the height at that point is less than set height, it will ascend to that height first and then move towards home point for landing.

In case of set as Land, it will start landing at the point it gets lost signal

If it's set to it continues to hover until signal is resumed or battery goes low in that case it will return there if smart RTH is set.

What you may not appreciate is that flying directly above you the antenna orientation gives you the worst possible signal connection.
the first time I tried to go high I went straight up got 486ft tried it again same place but started with the sky chicken about 30' away got 1098ft makes a big difference.
