Have you checked the upgrade result ?
Take the sd card out and put into your computer, open it and there will be a log file on it that was not there before, open the file, it will say upgrade successful or upgrade fail, if its failed try again, if its successful check what version you have put on it as it would appear the latest version does not currently work on a lot of birds (mine included), also in the file it will say what version you have upgraded from, re install the version that worked, there is a thread on here on how to do that, I have just used it to get mine flying again. Also remove the upgrade file and the text file from the card, I am told it wont connect if they are still on the card.
I assume yours is a pro so controller connects to your phone or pad which ever you are using by cable, is this connected, if its a standard or 4k the controller connects by wifi, have you set this up?
You will probably have to reconnect the rc to the bird after this and also calibrate imu and compass before it will fly.
