A friend of mine is a local cub scout leader. Last night they had their annual recruiting/yearly start up meeting. He had asked me several months ago if i would come out and fly my Phantom to show the kids and be a "draw" to get kids there. I brought out a 55" LED TV and hooked my FatShark goggles to it so I was FPV'ing via a 55" screen (AWESOME!!!). The kids absolutly loved it! It was like the "Pied Piper" I flew to one end of the field and the other and the Phantom was chased by a heard of kids back and forth. All the parents that were there loved it and I had lots of questions from parents and kids alike. Only one mom there didnt really like it and made the comment "thats scary, think of all the bad things you can do with that". I told her "i could do equally as much or more evil with just the internet. Its all in how you use anything. Evil is done by the person not the machine". She agreed and moved on.

All in all it was a GREAT interaction and 99.9% of the people there loved it and were very interested and interacted well with it. All care was taken around people as i didnt want to slice any little kids up LOL

In the 90's, I lost count how many times I heard my Mom tell me "That new-fangled Internet is soooo EVIL --- it's only used for child porn and hacking credit card numbers".

These days I'd say she spends around 4 or 5 hours per day online with her e-commerce home business and also for personal use.

Fly that Phantom fast and high and let the haters keep kissin' your rear! There's a lot of jealous people out there who wish they had a Vision+ and we are the privileged few who got 'em.

Good for you. Were the recruiting numbers for the scout leader up? FPV through a 55" TV -- I could get used to that.

My friend said they had more double the kids there than they have ever had in the past. They all drew pictures on some paper for a design of their scout t shirts and from what I was told 3/4 were quad copters

Now if you could've rigged your Phantom to air-drop M80's onto woodchucks in the field --- suffice to say some kids would pass out from that kind of awesome sauce.

As for their parents --- ehhh, not so much.

LOL....yeah your right on that.

All in all it was a great experience. Flying on a 55" TV was great and i will probably do that again for any other "public viewings" i do.
