How to get rid of side bar on right that's covering posts!

I've searched and can't find the answer. It's diving me crazy. I get on this wonderful forum everyday to learn more and more and I love it. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of or hide the side bar on the right of the forum that shows the advertising, my screen name, and new threads and most viewed threads. Every time I open a thread to read all the posts that side covers all the text on the right side of the screen and I can't read it. How can I just close that side bar?? I don't want to see it? I understand all about needing advertising but there is advertising still on the top and bottom of the screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

If using a touch screen, Don't spread the page out so far...
