How to bypass phantom 4 500m limit distance (not altitude but distance)

I've wondered about this myself as I have a mountain cliff where the base elevation is approx 9,000' and the granite vertical cliff is approx 2,500' straight up. I'd love to try going up to the top but my P4 would probably measure the vertical height from the cliff base. This is not a sloped cliff.

Hi there just wonder how far you can fly ? I’ve switched that off too and can only fly 600m away then ipad is loosing signal with phantom 4 and return home is activated ???

Thank you! I must have misunderstood something. And I really could not imagine why someone wants to fly higher than 500 m.

I live next to a 7000 ft. mountain. I want to fly to the top of it maintaining 200 ft. AGL. I can't do that with a DJI Phantom 4.
