Hello guys.
I've searched in the forum for this topic but i haven't found any discussion about this.
I've seen a very interesting thread about the range of transmission (see Phantom 3 Standard range mod , let's do it together...) but for me is more important try to improve video quality before to improve the flight range because i've got the P3 to take video clips.

Recording in HD (1920x1080) at 25fps in PAL mode, i get video clips at 25Mbps
It's possible to increase the video quality at 1920x1080?

Thanks to all and... have a good flight!

I just remember that DJI did do an upgrade for the camera . Depending on how old your drone is and what firmware it's at. If you are up today on everything you should not have any problems getting 2.7
I think when the Standard first came out it was able to do
  • FHD: 1920x1080p 24/25/30
then they did a firmware update and gave it the 2.7k

Thank you phxbird57 but i means something different.
I know that 3P STANDARD is able to record at 2.7K at 40Mbps but the problem is that it records at 1920x1080 at 25Mbps whereas the P3 pro or P3 advanced are able to record at 1920x1080 at 40Mbps.

I suppose that should be "only" a firmware difference because i think that the camera hardware should be the same (isn't it???)

BTW, i have bought my drone just 1 month ago...

Your video is on memory card inside camera. Take it out and transfer videos with memory card reader.

If you set it to save to MP4 format, it records FHD (1920x1080) to 25 Mbps.
But if you set it to save to MOV format, it records FHD (1920x1080) to 40 Mbps.

ok the camera on the standard is not the same camera that is on a Phantom 3 advanced or the Pro versions. If you are looking for that you have the wrong model. firmware will not get you what you what.

If you set it to save to MP4 format, it records FHD (1920x1080) to 25 Mbps.
But if you set it to save to MOV format, it records FHD (1920x1080) to 40 Mbps.
Good to know. Didn't know that mp4 only records at 25Mbps

Does 2.7k on P3A also records MOV at 40Mbps?

Do you have a source to this?

It's horseshit.

From my footage, right now.

OP: I have wondered the same thing. AFAIK you are mistaken - the 40mbps on the Advanced and Pro are for the 60 fps footage. Up to 30 fps gets the same 25 mbps we do.

Hi guys I know that I am off topic, but which settings do you recommend to record at night on dji phantom standard? i tried to do it and the video quality is poor and also you can see noise in the video. I need help! thanks

@phxbird57
are you shure that the camera is not the same? where have you read this?

@ferk
With my P3 standard, the Mbps of MOV and MP4 are the same (25Mbps for 25fps and 1920x1080)

@Dronefriend
A friend of mine sent me a footage taken with a pro (or adv) P3 and i see 40Mbps at 25fps/1920x1080

I have a P3a, My brother has a P3s. The sd card goes in the gimbal on the P3a & P3p the standard it goes in the camera body. I was thinking before that it was the same camera as the P2 vision plus ( which I have also). but they are different. In my P2v+ i can get 1920x1080 30 fps. Even the Advance & pro version are a little different but I think it's all in the Gimbal. That is where all the brains are for the camera.

yes phxbird57, the cameras could be different in 3 models (and we are not sure), but could be also a "firmware" setting used for commercial purpose just to justify different prices ;)

Well on my P3S when MOV and NTSC is selected it records at 40 Mbps

So your looking for a firmware that will transform you standard into an Advance or Pro version. Let me know if you find it.
;)

In my opinion the poor quality and the "noise" depends on the high sensibility (ISO) that the camera uses when in dark conditions (as happens to all photo and video cameras).

I have tried the same now but i've got a very lower Mbps than your
If i use the windows "property" for the MOV file, i get 15882kbps/29fps (about 15Mbps)...

:confused::confused::confused:
