Just got my "new" Phantom 3 "standard" about a week ago ( along with two extra batteries ) (and, as noted elsewhere - first thing I did was install BLADE GUARDS ).

Question, even after depleting only ONE battery ( **** this is fun...!) I noticed the little drive motors get pretty warm to the touch. So.....how hot can they get without damage ? Anyone want to suggest a maximum running time before giving the thing a chance to cool off ?

MY MISTAKE - I see someone raised an identical question a couple of hours before I did; didn't see it. The responder says anything under 160 degrees F will not hurt these motors. Hope he is right !

Neodymium magnets, typically used are generally rated to around 176 deg. F, before losing magnetization (varies a bit), if you can still touch them without much discomfort (around 140 deg. F), you should be ok. If you start seeing high heats on a single motor however, check to see that it rotates freely, as an impending bearing failure might be in its future.
