The normal way is to pull the card and put it in an adaptor.
As you found out, using a cable is much, much slower.

If your on windows or mac computer and your device you fly with is an apple you can use Itunes... But I purchased this app and you can download them via usb to pc connection. It treats your connected device like an external hard drive.

    Quick question thou.
    I ussually film in mp4, 1080.
When i transfer the clips to my old computer i get a message pretty much saying, if you dont convert the files before tranfering you might encounter problems.
I i says yes convert then transfer, the transfer says it will take about 4 hours!!!
Ofcourse i aint waitng for hours so i just ask pc to tranfer foles as they are.
    Anybody familiar?
