how close?

    How close can you get to things like power lines, cell tower or buildings before you'll start to have problems with compass or GPS interference and possible disaster.

    I'm not sure there's a definitive answer to that. I would certainly stay well away from strong sources of electromagnetic radiation like high tension power lines and cell masts, for example. I don't think buildings per se are any sort of issue (other than the legality of buzzing too close to others property) but you probably don't want to be in an area with lots of tall buildings as your satellite reception will begin to be compromised.

    I would definitely stay away from all towers. But I must admit, getting a close up shot of a tower (or Verizon's garbage) would have an entertainment quality.
