HOBBYIST/DRONE PILOTS IN THE US

Anyone have an idea of total population of hobbyist/drone pilots there are in the US. After reading the FAA rules and regulations on hobbyists/drones I was curious to how many pilots there might be and their efforts to controlling said population.

Well… DJI did $400,000 in sales in 2013, probably 4x that now. Divide that by the price of a Phantom and multiply that by 2 (Dji owns about 1/2 of market share) That should be a rough guess.

Where is that figure from? I guarantee you that DJI sold more than that in just Phantoms, even in just the last quarter of the year.

That is for . Total sales. Can't remember exactly where, but it was a credible website. It may have been the first half of 2013.

That figure would come to somewhere just under 600 Phantoms (assuming an avg price of $700). Even back in the beginning of last year they were probably selling more than that each month.

...I guarantee you that DJI sold more than that in just Phantoms, even in just the last quarter of the year.

All due to replacement fly away Phantom 2's and vision upgrades... Lol... hee hee.. :roll: :mrgreen:
