I've been thinking about this concept for a while. Instead of electric motors with big props, can a multirotor copter be built using electric ducted fan motors instead of the electric motor/prop configuration? Would it be efficient?

think power to weight (of ducted motors) with current onboard batteries might give issues fior small size quad setups .... but have thought same strange thought myself, would love to see something though if possible.... suppose ya cant iron out the wrinkles until you pull out the ironing board and try :shock:
