I used an elevator bolt, ground it down and used 3m double sided weatherstrip adhesive, solid as a rock!

Good job with the new why to install that holder. I did mine the other way by drilling the hole and mounting in a threaded nut. Was a bit nerve racking, but I did it.

Clever... I just finished mine, drilling wasn't to bad, a little more difficult than the holes for an antenna! Looks good and sturdy though.

Local hardware store, I went to ace nuts and bolts store. Lowes and home depot should have them.
 
I didn't want to drill into my rc until warranty is over
 
I wasn't so concerned about the warranty, as the chances of me using the warranty on the remote is slim. My only real concern was me making a dumb mistake during the mod. If I had, then on to eBay to buy a used one.
