Format your card in the bird with go app. Take it out and download again to computer then COPY and paste to card and put back in bird.

Tried that and still can't get it to take a firmware update. Keeps saying corrupted. I thought maybe I needed to try a lower version, 1.28 I believe, tried that with the same results 
Also, now that I connected it to my phone, I can't connect to my tablet. I have USB debugging enabled, keeps saying how to connect. I logged in on my tablet with no luck
