Help with top and bottom borders?

i seem to be getting border lines top and bottom when creating videos. ?

I'm shooting in 4k at both 24 and 25 fps.

My export on Final Cut Pro x is 4096 x 2160.

Am I missing something?

edit: i think i have solved it but need to physically try it later, full screen needs to be

4096 x 2304... i think lol

Try 3840 x 2160. That's UHD resolution. It will drop a bit off the edges but fit top to bottom.

What's the idea of the 4096 x whatever To get the cinematic letterbox?

Your tv screen is a 16:9 ratio. If you have a 4K tv screen, that's the maximum resolution it can display. Although 4096 x 2304 is a 16:9 ratio, the screen won't display that much, so shrinks it to fit.

So does it shrink anything over the 3840 x 2160?
