Has anyone put their P2 guts into carbon fiber 350 frame?

IIRC, Phantom shell is about 265 grams.

Aftermarket 3K carbon fiber 350mm frames are about ~180 grams. That's almost 100 grams savings that is going to help with flight times... assuming aerodynamics are similar.

Has anyone tried something like this? Mounting all the Phantom guts onto a light CF frame?

Not me I'm happy with what I have as stock and 18 minutes flight time, with 20% reserve. All that work for 3-4 more minutes flight time, no thanks. Design differences equal different flight characteristics and might be some loss of stability.

I have to agree. Too much work for little benefit. If it were a spare one then maybe.

Or maybe buy a wrecked one for short money and make it a winter project...

Also keep in mind carbon fiber is conductive, so you might have to add some insulators to your electronics. Sounds like a fun hobbiest project!
