H3-3d USB into gopro.

Hey guys. Brand new phantom 2 pilot. Only 1 hour of flight time. It has been a riot.
What is the purpose of the micro USB ribbon cable that connects the h3-3d to my gopro? Manual says nothing about this other than it has to be installed. Thanks so much.

It powers the GoPro so you d'ont have to charge it.

Tell me if you agree or disagree but this seems like a weird feature. My gopro battery lasts 90-120 minutes, sometimes more. The phantom battery 20 minutes. Why would you want your gopro shortening airtime on the phantom? Unless of course you can run the gopro with no battery reducing weight. Cheers

Oh. Ok. I thought only the micro hdmi output could be used for a video output?

The amount of battery capacity the gopro could even possibly use would be reflected in a scant few seconds at most in reducing flight time.

The USB port provides both power (charges) the GoPro AND gives you video feed out (composite)

The HDMI port does not provide power but WILL give you HD video out.

So.... BOTH ports give you video out but only one port (USB) will also charge/power the GP
