I've got a phantom 2 and I'm running a h3-2d. Can I merely replace/upgrade it with a h3-3d? I know I'll have to update software, etc, but I wasn't sure if there is anything inside the phantom 2 that needs to be changed. I see that there may be an anti interference board that needs to be added.

Sorry for the newbie type question.

It depends. They made two versions of the shell. The later one had a bigger cuttout on the bottom to accommodate the extra motor on the h3-3d. Does it have a rectangular cutout on the bottom ? If so it's the older type but you can buy a bracket to adapt it. See here - http://www.buildyourowndrone.co.uk/dji- ... tom-2.html

I think the adapter plate comes with a set of longer legs as the adapter lowers the camera and it probably hits the ground.

Mr C - Thank you for that information. I was wondering about that cutout because I saw a few install videos that showed a large cutout and I don't have that on my P2.
