On GroupOn goods, they are advertising a P3P at a 17% savings. Pretty good deal right? I mean, who can pass up a $250 savings? https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-dj...ource=uu19218976&utm_campaign=UserReferral_ma

The problem is they say the value of the P3P is $1499.99. This is without any add-ons. No extra battery, no backpack. Nothing extra. Quick check and you can still get the P3P at the DJI Store, as well as many other responsible dealers for $1259. Groupon appears to simply have inflated the price, and claimed you save 17%! Ok...there is a savings of $9.01, which by my math is less then .8% savings, nowhere near 17%. They don't even specify who is actually fulfilling the orders.

What? Is GroupOn now a DJI reseller?

I can't imagine what responsible, well researched purchaser would actually buy something like a Phantom from GroupOn especially as they advertise a false $250, 17% savings, but what really irks me is there are so many examples of responsible DJI dealers that actually support our hobby (many of them with a positive presence here), it's unfortunate GroupOn gets away with inflating, then discounting at a "savings". If I was an official DJI reseller, I'd be upset.

Groupon is not an authorized DJI dealer either. It would be better to buy a Phantom from an authorized dealer here:

Just a note... after 3 emails asking the same question Groupon finally stated the following:

Q: Is Groupon an authorized DJI seller? If not, according to DJI they won't honor the 1 year warranty.
A: This item is being sold to you by Groupon Goods and we stand by the products available for sale on our website. If you have any further questions, please let us know at [email protected].

and

I'm sorry for any confusion with the terms if this deal.

However, I can assure you that the sale of this deal has been authorized by DJI. You can more information on warranty at
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81SEASAxVES.pdf.

As always, if you run into an issue redeeming a Groupon you've purchased just let us know and we'll be more than happy to help!

This is the best response I could get from the company despite the clear question about the warranty. It appears if you have an issue with DJI that you have recourse through Groupon.

Until Groupon appears on DJI's list of authorized DJI dealers, it would probably be better to buy elsewhere. Or, at least contact DJI and confirm before making the purchase.
