Ground Station APP Distance Restriction

Just wondering if there is a way to change the linear distance range on the app so that you can fly further? Also, when you setup all your waypoints and hit go, does all the information about the waypoints get transferred to the phantom at once or how does it all work.

Hi, as far as I know there is no way to get over the 500 meters restriction in the APP. I have heared about various tricks to overcome but None of them sounded practicable. One for instance was to fly the Phantom to the 500 meters circle Limit, have it stop at that waypoint and follow it to that Point. once you are there and the Phantom hovering above you manually Change the home Point to the new Location and then you are able to fly further.

Yes, all waypoint data is transferred to the Phantom before liftoff.

There is a modded version of the DJI app.. its in the P2V+ sub forum.. not sure if its only supported on the vision 2+ though.
Anyways its removed some of the limits such as the 500m

Very cool fix for the flight distance restriction. Thanks! I only needed a 100 more feet to get my shot.
