Anyone found any safe place or anywhere to fly near the Grand Canyon on the southern side? Going to AZ next month and want to know if its even worth taking the phantom with. The park border looks fairly thick around the south/southwest side.

To state it without the legalese, drones are not allowed at any property operated by the National Park Service. Period. This includes national monuments, and even the small National Recreation Areas, like the Chattahoochee River parks here in Georgia.
National and state forests are different. Their rules vary wildly. I was told "no" in New Hampshire, and warmly welcomed in Vermont!
