Hmm my SOS works but you have to program the tracker with the numbers you want the SOS message sent to. I also find the iPhone app works great. Just make sure you copy the whole txt message it sends you and past that into the map tab in the app rather than just the link in the txt message.

Oh well, the map asks me to add "lat:" "Long:" and "speed:000.0" and it sends me to a location in China... While the text sent me to the GPS correct location...

There must be a way to fix on/off
low battery warning works for you?

I don't know lol. I only have 2 Phantom batteries so I pop a fresh battery in the tracker before my first flight and call it and then send a status command. Once I get both txts I verify the location is correct in the txt and after I have used my 2 batteries up I take the tracker battery out for charging.

If I click the link in the txt then sure it goes to some website in China (does not always work either), but if I copy the WHOLE txt and paste that into the map page and click show it works every time.

Hummmm...
Well if I use the app and click "Locate Tracker" I will receive a text like this:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... 9036470558

If I click this link, it sends me to googlemap and shows me the correct location.
If I copy paste the link in the app's map it send me nowhere "Could not find latitude...."
If I copy paste from google map 34.057450,-118.391195 into the app, I get the same thing

All the other forums online show a problem with on/off on some items but no solution

Here is what my txt looks like:-

Here is the txt if you want to try and copy and paste the whole thing into your app to test.

Code:
GPS!
lat:51.70988 long:-0.00947 speed:000.6
T:06/03/14 14:36
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&q=51.70988,-0.00947&z=16

OK :) I don't receive the 1st part. That's OK, the app isn't really useful to me. I'll post if I get a solution for on/off

You should right click on the link and then ask Copy to get it complete, otherwise you won't get the complete link. Just tried yours and it works fine ;)
Here is how your link looks after a right click / copy
Code:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=34.057450,-118.391195&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwIoc=addr&om=1speed:000.0&imei=354779036470558

In fact you do not need the whole link, you can use only this part
Code:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=34.057450,-118.391195&ie=UTF8&z=16

Tip : you can also type latitude, longitude, (separated by a coma), directly in Google and it will send you to the right location
Like this : 51.70988,-0.00947

My SOS works. It sends a message to ALL of the authorized phone numbers. Btw, the youtube review says you have to call the unit to get a location out of the device. That's not true. You can send it a command via SMS, including a command that says "send location every x seconds, n times where n=>1 or * for continuous until you send an explicit stop.

I may wire a switch to kill the circuit to the battery. Seems very silly to have to do this.

Let us know how you wire a kill switch. Pita not being able to shut off.

I've just ordered one of these.

Seems like a no-brainer to me. No running costs with a pay-as-you-go SIM. I'll let you all know how it goes.

I got one. Don't waste your money. It's flaky on response, GPS is also deaf and worst of all any location info is in the form of a Chinese URL that is not available. As much use as a chocolate fire guard.
I have the same one and it works fine.

I ended up adjusting the mount such that I can now relatively easily remove the battery.

I have one, too. Don't have to use the "Chinese website" since it texts right to my iPhone. Observed accuracy is within 30' sitting in my living room indoors in a frame home. Not bad at all!!

Possible Solution for the ON/OFF issue:
Press the on/off button a long time. 3 seconds and it blinks quickly and then slowly.
It worked for me
Still SOS does not work
No warning of low battery
