how to stop the gimbal powering go pro vid.
Thanks
I thought it was more of disconnecting the power feed that is what I would rather do I would think the way the vid shows it throws off the ballence witch I'm sure can be corrected . I still want to use the vid feed just don't want the power going to the GP .

Follow up: Gimbal is at DJI being repaired or looked at, also sent Gopro an email asking them if it was covered explained what happened, here is the reply:

Update for Case #1022433 - "GOPRO BURNED UP!"

Hi Chris,

I'm very sorry I took a look at the website for the Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal you're running and the power output on those things is hard core. All our camera models cannot accept any power source over 5 volts 1 amp rating. Anything higher than that will eventually roast these little guys.

We do want to see what we can do to help you out though. Could you please reply back with your original sales receipt for the purchase of your camera, and also include the date this incident happened. I will have some of my colleagues of mine and myself look some things over and see if there's anything we can do to help you out.

Many Thanks,

If that's what go pro are saying I think I'm definitely going to remove the connector like that video I posted, I run an external video link anyway. Weight of the connector is probably pretty similar to a lens protector which would go on the same side. Hopefully if there was an issue with the balance of the gimbal removing the connector this will solve it.

Surely, the zenmuse is not shoving 12V into the GoPro harness?!?! GoPros would be getting cooked all over the place.

Same here jmack, might try this other gimbal from ebay $100 http://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-Phantom...137&&clkid=5482441285134239376&_qi=RTM1562569

What a load of poppycock GoPro told you.
The output is 5V and it doesn't matter how many amps it is. It could be 1 amp or 100 amps, the GoPro will only draw what it draws (which is 1 amp).
