I've been mulling over it for a while since I have an FC40, but I think I want to take the plunge and get a real fpv system for it, so I could use my go pro as my main cam.

too bad the gopro wifi sucks and its unable to be extended via router or else that is what I'd use.

That being said, I am familiar with :
rangevideo
readymaderc
getfpv

does anyone else have any other recommendations on stores?
Maybe even recommend some parts?

I would use a monitor
gopro hero+ as main camera
whatever tx/rx is light-weight
osd if possible
as little soldering as possible

Where are you in world? It will help folks to help you.

Those three you listed are my go-to shops for anything FPV, with readymade being my #1 option and getfpv as the second. Rangevideo is good too, just a bit newer to the game.

You might want to add firstpersonview.com to your list, they carry a couple of cables to simplify connection of some common FPV gear.

I'll mention allerc.com too since they're a solid established dealer in the hobby, and that's where I had to go to get my H3-3D when everyone else was out of stock.

Other than those places, I haven't found any need to use any other vendors in the US for FPV.

Do you think you can help out here?
If I use http://www.readymaderc.com/, can you tell me which items to pick out for my FC40?

I would need a monitor (anti glare I guess)
tx\rx
batteries
gopro hero 3+ video connector

umm... i think thats it.
Oh, I guess mounting brackets for the monitor

I was wondering what you were thinking about getting for your fc40. I guess you can get the boscam 2.4G 500mW AV wireless transmitter? I don't know what that costs. For $80.00 I got that 7" monitor (it has no name on it) that everyone is selling with the sun shield, no blue screen and for me it works great I don't know what the 2.4g options are for a receiver to collect that video signal and send it to the monitor. You know instead of hooking up lipo batteries to run the monitor and receiver I have a 12v battery pack that works great and powers both items, just like a lipo would do of course.

Does readymaderc have a sales department that you can call on the phone? If they do thats the way to go to talk through what you want to do and they can advise you on how to achieve it.

yeah, i've emailed all 3 places.
It takes some time for them to get back to me.

Rangevideo said to get these
http://www.rangevideo.com/en/13-ghz/617 ... -pack.html
http://www.rangevideo.com/en/video-tx-r ... annel.html
http://www.rangevideo.com/en/1200mhz-an ... -pack.html

but that gopro connector is huge! I feel it would throw off the gimbal balance.

Oh you're getting a gimbal too? Which one? Odds are you won't need that gopro connector rangevideo suggested.

I'm afraid I don't have any experience with non-5.8GHz FPV gear, but I would wait to see what RMRC suggests, they've been in FPV well before the Phantom came along, and I'd trust whatever they tell you. They also have good 7" and 8" monitors, I have the 8" model and I love it (but I see it's out of stock at the moment).

For the monitor bracket, I'd highly recommend this one if you're using the stock FC40 controller: http://www.raveaerialvideo.com/product/ ... tor-mount/

You'll also need a battery to power the monitor and FPV receiver, I just switched to these from getfpv.com in place of the 1100mAh's RMRC sells: http://www.getfpv.com/batteries/accesso ... ttery.html

RMRC also has all the connectors/adaptors you'll need to connect the battery to your receiver and monitor.

I currently have the walkera 2 axis gimbal and I just recently ordered the walkera 3-axis gimbal.
I dont know why they showed me that huge connector when I knew (and others linked above) smaller connectors.

Makes me not want to put that store on my top list ;p
I'll wait for RMRC

I month ago I waited, and waited, and waited... email sucks to communicate and it almost seemed like the companies did not want my business. I ended up here http://www.dpcav.com/xcart/home.php as I have said before. Just call the phone number, talk to the guy who answers. You don't have to buy from them but it will help with your understanding of what you really need. 916-985-7219 tell thomas Craig at Eagle's Nest RV Park sent ya.

I recommend you find a company where you can talk to a salesman over the phone. That way you get the stuff you need. I confuse this thread with this thread.. (does that make sense)

I might do what you said and call dpcav

Yeah don't wait around on account of my recommendation, I had expected they would have been back to you long before now. On the times I've contacted them Dave had replied w/in 24 hours at most, and always with the answer I needed and zero sales pitch. I admit it's been at least several months since the last time I emailed them though.

Not sure why you didn't get anywhere with them, sorry about that :(
