Saw the highlights on the local ABC affiliate tonight. My thoughts were:

Very cool! What a great use for 'copters! Pretty pictures *and* the potential for research data.

    and

If they did this in Hawaii, the US FAA would be all over them because ABC News is a commercial operation. But they did it in Iceland, so it was okay.

    Grumble...stupid FAA...grumble, grumble....

PS: I went to Iceland 3 years ago...what an incredible place for scenery. If you ever get to go to Iceland, jump on the chance with both feet. You won't regret the experience.

Yeah DJI posted this on their facebook and said it took something like 12 flights and that it was so hot that it melted some parts of the frame for the Inspire 1, but kept flying them and nothing went wrong. The also said the winds were very strong, which you can see from the video.

I remember how awesome the first volcano video with the phantom was that partly melted the gopro. With all the negative stuff in the media about the drunk at the white house incident I hope we see more national good stories like this demonstration.

Love it. Not the first time that GMA has used drone footage, and certainly not the last. Here's another example:

Strange, I know, but I wish there were an active volcano nearby - I'd fly over it too.
