Gimbal

I came across this and was thinking for the price I bet I could modify it to fit and work with the vision camera. Any thoughts ? http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product ... 20437.html

People are starting to install this gimbal on many Phantoms, and haven't really heard anything bad about them

but to modify it to work with the Vision camera might be darn tricky (also makes you wonder why DI hasn't mounted a Vision camera to their own gimbal?!?).

I'd say get a GoPro and use that instead, save yourself the hassle.

That's the "updated" Tarot gimbal :)

Search for "dji vision tarot gimbal" it should show if anyone has attempted it.

You probably right!

When I got my tarot, somewhere in documentation I seen mention of a newer version, looking at the pic in the top link the iso mount set up looks similar to the tarot one (compression style) along with a slimmer but similar looking connecting arm, and I think the link has T2D written in the description.

It is the opposite way to the tarot, but I thought maybe the pic was reversed or something funky like that, I wonder how that one will cope with the weight of an fpv cable hanging off the side of the gopro?

The GoPro Hero3(+) is probably a better camera, however the FC200 isn't just a camera, it is also kind of IOSD, FPV and transmitter all in one. A PV2GoPro interface build into the ZENMUSE H3-2D would be optimal, allowing the real-time flight data to be transmitted alongside the FPV data, to the repeater of the P2V, and on to the smartphone. Since such a solution isn't to be expected anytime soon, mounting the existing FC200 to a ZENMUSE H3-2D like gimbal could be a nice workaround, preserving the FPV and real-time flight data options, while really improving the stability of the camera. The FC200 aprox. weighs 131 grams, added to the aprox. 230 grams of the ZENMUSE H3-2D, or 178 grams of the T-2D, which will reduce the flight time. In addition, you could always mount the GoPro Hero3(+) to the gimbal afterwards, if you prefer :)

Why couldn't someone use a gimbal used for a GoPro with a plate at the bottom like this one http://www.amazon.com/Phantom-Brush...id=1387299576&sr=8-11&keywords=phantom+gimbal . Then figure out a way to mount the Vision camera on the lower plate. You will probably have to add landing gear extenders and figure out a way to turn off the single axis gimbal correction, but keep the camera tilt active. Any test dummies out there??

On another note. I just saw this on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=EdtE2FZc9_A. Not sure if it has tilt control though.
