gimbal tilt question

I understand when using a two axis gimbal like the new Zen Muse or the Arri, the gyro stabilizes the gimbal. Can the gimbal be hooked up to the mystery 7th channel to change the tilt while still maintaining the gyro stabilization? Or do you have to choose one or the other?

You can tilt manually (7th channel) any time and gimbal maintains stabilization in any angle.
