gimbal switch pot small range of motion, huge dead zones

I have tarot 2d and works great, have a 5k pot on front of tx.
Problem is, only 20% of the pots turn allows me to tilt gimbal, the rest is dead. I already tried calibrating it and it does not help. Can I set start and stop on pots motion for a more complete range of motion?? Its so hard to control when so sensitive :\ and its a linear taper 5 k pot

You calibrated in RC assistant first and then again in the Phantom assistant?
