Gimbal firmware update for mac...

Is there anyway to update the Zenmuse gimbals on macs? I think its strange that the assistant software can be used on macs to access and update the phantoms but not the gimbals. Am I right on this? Also...if I must use a PC to update my gimbal, is it safe to go between mac and pc, back and fourth? For example is it okay to use a PC only to update the gimbal but use a mac for all other purposes?

With the gimbal attached to the Phantom, the Assistant software should recognise it on a Mac just fine, mine does.

As for switching between the two, that should also be ok as it's only reading what's there.
I have to use the PC to update the Mini iOSD firmware and don't seem to have had any trouble so far.

EDIT, I'm using VM Ware Fusion to run windows, on my Mac, if that makes a difference or not I don't know.

I think you're talking about the gimbal assistant. That is only Windows. But the Phantom Assistant can update the gimbal. And no problem switching back and forth.
