Hi guys only new to the forums but had to join as this is the place to be if you own a phantom.
I come from NSW Australia just up from sydney and right on the coast line.
I just received my invoice and i am paying tomorrow for my Standard 3 and a week later i should have it...
I was given some VR BOX goggle free to go with them and was wondering if they will work as FPV... yep not good I know but do they work at all or just use them for movies...
I am also getting a hard case for 30 bucks so i cant complain..
Cheers guys

Hi I'm about 5 hrs south of you Sounds like your at Gosford I fly a Standard around the farm here .I could only get 250m range out of mine before putting on a DBS antenna still only get 500m of reliable range and got to 780m once .I always fly early mornings or late evenings I find its just too hard to see what's going on on the tablet otherwise The goggles might be a good idea if they work .Hope you get one not built on a Friday afternoon like I did ! Still great fun though

Good to see there are Phantom Pilots down under! My wife is Australian, and I'm hoping to take my P3 with us next time we head over from the US. I wasn't sure if that sort of fun was allowed down there :p

Yes its against the law to have fun here, but hey our(non indigenous) population was predominately convicts in the beginning as you have probably been told so a lot of fun is still had ! Depending where you will be you are welcome to visit and fly here. I have 2000 acres plus my neighbors gives me about 20,000 acres to fly in. The only danger is a very large wedge-tail eagals nest on our western boundary home to four very large birds

I thought to myself, "surely a country that outlaws laser pointers won't allow remote-controlled flying killing-machines like Phantoms." Glad I thought wrong! The in-laws live in the ACT so I intend on getting some good footage of the Brindabella Mountains among other sceneries.

Ah Canberra .Probably all a no fly zone ,politicians worried about their own safety.Such a joke .Here we'd much rather ridicule them to death in the press much more fun.
We are less than two hours southwest. My wife is on home dialysis and Woden Hospital is where all her specialists are. So we are there quite a bit .As I said if you want to visit your welcome ,its an easy day trip.
I worked on a farm in Montana many years ago then traveled by car into Canada all around the US and into Mexico .Met some really nice people and didn't get shoot once.
