The UK Government will be making changes to the Air Navigation Order (the law covering flight over UK territory) some time in 2017. Simultaneously, the European Commission is also preparing changes for the EU member states. Both Governing Bodies are currently in the consultation phase. The British Model Flying Association (BMFA) with its long tradition of safe model aircraft flying is part of the consulting process. An update of progress is shown on the BMFA site with a link to the UK Consultaion paper and the chance to participate in the online survey.

Update on EASA Prototype Rules and UK Government Launches Consultation on ‘Drones’

Reading between the lines it looks as though we will have to register our drones. UK Gov is looking at the US and Irish systems at the moment.

I feel like I've wasted my money buying a drone. Seems like I literally can't fly it anywhere without some kind of repercussion.

I'll be travelling to the US soon. What do I have to do to fly it there?
