Watched a video showing the frequency band signal on the remote however I do not see these on my remote. Does the phantom motors need to be armed to check the strength or just simply powered on?
Anyone have any info?

It may be in IPhone or IPad - there is always much more options in Apple DJI Go than Android.

If you are referring to the transmission signal, you need to be connected/powered up to see what the channels are doing and either leave it in auto or custom to select your own channel. Go into the app, top right hand corner, tap the three dots, find HD settings and off you go.
