FPVL Stage 4 Distance

For those of you with the Stage 4 FPVL kits from Tony. Would love to hear some of the ranges you guys are seeing.

For me only 3 flights I've done

9200 @ 1000ft
8300 @ 2000ft
7200 @ 750ft

Stage 4 kit was installed by Hani from UAVRepairShop



Tony said you should get 16,000ft under "optimal" conditions, I'm barely seeing half of that so curious what others are seeing in real life.

Wow is that high. I just did 8000' with my stage 2 @ 250'. do you have a bunch of wifi around you?

I've only got about 5 flights with stage 4, but so far very happy. Only just starting to really push it. I have done:

8500 ft @ 400 @ 320x240 15 fps - no loss of signal
5500 ft @ 100 @ 640x480 15 fps - no loss of signal
12500 ft @ 500 @ 320x4080 15 fps - brief loss of fpv at 12k, but came back 12.5k after gaining some height. not positive about the altitude on this one.

Max, what kinda area are you in? Dense city population, middle of nowhere...etc?

Long wide beach, but with houses near it. Google Newport Beach peninsula.

My max so far is 6100ft @ around 400ft high. 320x240 30fps. Stage 3. I fly in a very wifi heavy suburban area.

I'm curious to results in urban areas I'm doing the stage 4 also, I live in the bay area California, and do alot of city flying I'd be more than happy with 7000 feet @ 500ft height

you will get best horizontal distance results at 300-400ft altitude.
of course surroundings make a huge difference, buildings, trees, electrical,.. will all affect that.

Also adjust how your antennas are pointed when you are really far out. I have gained at back my signal after loosing it by adjusting it.
