I don't have a smartphone to link up to my FC40 camera. Can I just go buy a cheap, unlocked, phone with no service provider and use it to connect to the wifi signal of the camera?
    Thanks.

Don't waste your money. Go on Amazon and buy a cheap Android tablet, a used Kindle Fire or a new Kindle Fire HD. It's a LITTLE bit of a trick to put the FC40 app on a Kindle, but nothing to worry about.

Tablets have probably at least triple the range of any phone.

I bought a Polaroid tablet at Rose's discount store for 50 bucks. New. I never got a chance to test it with my FC40. My girlfriend dropped it and cracked the screen

I'm happy with my first generation Nexus 7. I got it on CraigsList for $60.
